            Indulging in memories, Gabriel Fauré admits to the ‘Echo de Paris’ (April 1924) that he grew up in ‘a region altogether beautiful, smiling, magnificent, spendid’, adding : ‘I even thought about it so often when I was composing… that many of my works almost certainly carry the mark of the walks I took as a very small boy in this beautiful land of my fathers…’

            A l’heure des souvenirs, Gabriel Fauré confesse à L’Echo de Paris (avril 1924) qu’il a grandi dans  "une région de toute beauté, riante, magnifique, splendide..." et d’ajouter : "J’y ai même pensé si souvent lorsque je composais...que beaucoup de mes œuvres, j’en suis à peu près sûr, doivent porter la trace encore des promenades que je fis, tout petit garçon, dans ce beau pays de mes pères…"

            In der Stunde der Erinnerungen gesteht Gabriel Fauré dem Echo de Paris (April 1924), daß er in "einem land von herrlicher, strahlender Schönheit" aufgewachsen sei und fügt hinzu : "so oft habe ich beim Kompinieren daran gedacht…daß bestimmt viele meiner Werke noch die Spuren der Wanderungen, die ich als kleiner Junge in diesem schönen Land meiner Väter machte tragen…".
