Die Forelle (Schubart)

In einem Bchlein helle,
Da scho in froher Eil
Die launische Forelle
Vorüber wie ein Pfeil?
Ich stand an dem Gestade
Und sah in süer Ruh
Des muntern Fischleins Bade
Im klaren Bchlein zu.

Ein Fischer mit der Rute
Wohl an dem Ufer stand,
Und sahs mit kaltem Blute,
Wie sich das Fischlein wand,
So lang dem Wasser Helle,
So dachtich, nicht gebricht,
So fngt er die Forelle
Mi seiner Angel nicht.

Doch endlich ward dem Diebe
Die Zeit zu lang.
Er macht das Bchlein tückish trübe
Und ehich es gedacht,
So zuckte seine Rute,
Das Fischlein zappelt dran,
Und ich mit regem Blute
Sah die Betrogne an.

SCHUBART |
The Trout (Schubart)

In a bright little stream,
Briskly and gaily
Sped the wily trout,
Like an arrow past me.
I stood on the bank
And carelessly watched
The cheerful fish swimming
In the clear little stream.

A ficherman with his rod,
Stood there on the brink,
And cold-bloodedly
Watched the fish writhing.
As long as the clear water is undisturbed,
I thought he wont catch
The trout with his angle.

But at last, the rascal found that time
Was too long.
He made the water muddy, by a trick,
And before I realized it,
His rod quivered,
The fish dangled on it,
And I, with blood boiling,
Beheld the cheated catch.

La Truite (Schubart)

Dans un clair petit ruisseau,
La truite capricieuse allait
Comme la flèche
En sa vive gaiet.
Jtais au bord de leau,
Regardant sans penser,
Nager le vif poisson
Dans le ruisseau limpide.

Un pêcheur et sa gaule
Se tenait sur le bord
Et voyait dun œil froid
Frtiller le poisson.
Tant que leau restera claire,
Pensai-je,
Il nattrapera pas le poisson
Avec sa gaule.

Mais soudain, le coquin
Trouva le temps trop long.
Perfide, il troubla leau
Et avant que je ne comprenne,
Sa gaule se courba,
Le poisson frtilla son extrmit.
Et moi, tout en moi,
Je regardais la proie trahie.
